Handlers used by ASP.NET are a series classes that are capable of handling requests, there are built in or custom handlers.

Used for Diagnostics the custom handler trace is used for logging requests which are then found in a file with the file extension .axd this file is usually known as trace.axd this file is found on the server and can be opened in a web browser.
