Windows Connect Now was added to Windows XP with the second service pack, this program allows the user to add printers and routers to an existing Wireless Network.

Windows Connect Now is also used in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

The setting files for this program use the extension .wfc and contain information regarding the network such as SSID and the encryption used.
