It is possible to make up a list of various videos or audio tracks and to play them back in a certain order, this is done by using Playlists these are xml based files that contain a list of the tracks to be played.

Playlist files for the Windows Media Player use the.wpl extension, these files do not contain any data and only the path to the file in question.
