Files with the file extension .bnk are files that contain the bank of sounds used by the now defunct AdLib sound card, AdLib was a Canadian company that manufactured sound cards that used Yamaha´s YM3812 chip which created sound using FM synthesis. Due to the arrival of Creative Labs Soundblaster sound cards which supported AdLib features plus more the company went in to bankruptcy.
