Automator is a function for Mac OS X that is used to automate frequent tasks, it does this by using a workflow which allows the user to setup his automation using the various steps needed before saving it.

There is a library of actions included in the Automator and it is possible to download more from the Apple web site.

The action files created or download use the .action file extension.
