DC++ is a download manager for the Direct Connect and Advanced Direct Connect networks used to share files. This form of file sharing allows users to connect to a central hub and then download files from other users.

As with many other download managers it is possible with DC++ to pause a downloaded file and continue downloading from where you had left off these files which are temporary files use the extension .dctmp.

Once your download has finished the temporary .dctmp files are then renamed to the original files extension used for the file.
