Microsoft Outlook is a program from Microsoft that is used for personal information management and email. It allows the user to manage appointments, tasks, contacts etc. It is a part of the Microsoft Office Suite but is also available as a standalone product.

Outlook works as a stand alone product on your computer but can also work with Microsoft Exchange and Sharepoint Servers.

When you create an account there will be a settings file created that uses the file extension .iaf these store information for the account such as username, password and if needed server information. For each account that you create in Outlook a separate .iaf will be created.
