Windows Mobile Devices create encrypted files that use the extension .menc due to the encryption these files cannot be opened by those who do not have permission to do so.

These files are usually found on storage cards and can by using Windows Mobile Device Center or Activsync be transferred to your computer but it may not be possible to open them.

It is possible to switch this encryption off on the device using the settings for the device.
