The file extension .vp6 was used by the program On2 Flix, this program created video files and the .vp6 extension was used to let your computer know that it has to open a browser or media player to playback these files. One use of these files was for animations and video´s on websites.

Since the acquisition of On2 Technologies in 2010 by Google the program is now longer available.
